Meet The Father of Ogdenisms..... Toronto-born Frank Ogden has been a mop salesman, factory manager, house wares sales manager, insurance agent, plane, helicopter, gyro-copter, balloon, and glider pilot, banana boat deckhand, and mini-submarine captain. He was an RCAF flight engineer during World War II. Ogden set the altitude record in Canada for the lightest production aircraft (510 lbs.) ever built, a Mooney M-18 ("Scotsman"), over Toronto, October 12, 1953. His record remains unbroken over fifty six years later. He has piloted airplanes and helicopters across Canada, the United States (including Alaska), Mexico, Europe and Papua, New Guinea, and is qualified on fifty-five flying machines. He has lived and travelled in Gibraltar, Spain, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, England, Morocco, Kenya, Australia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, Haiti, Cuba, The Bahamas, and Costa Rica. Frank Ogden was for seven years part of a medical research team in a Canadian psychiatric hospital using psychedelic chemical therapy. He was also an aviation columnist for flight magazines in India, Great Britain, United States and Canada. He co-founded Canada's first "think tank." He was the first Canadian member of the World Future Society. He became station manager of radio station CKGM-AM/FM (now CHOM-FM) in Montreal during the FLQ crisis. He has taught creative thinking at the Ontario College of Art and at the New England School of Art. As a teenager Frank Ogden worked as a sports reporter for the Philadelphia Bulletin and Inquirer, and as a reporter for the Main Line Daily Times prior to becoming a writer and night-club car-jockey in Miami.
