He was an RCAF flight engineer during World War II.Ogden set the altitude record in Canada for the lightest production aircraft (510 lbs.) ever built, a Mooney M-18 ("Scotsman"), over Toronto, October 12, 1953. His record remains unbroken over fifty six years later. He has piloted airplanes and helicopters across Canada, the United States (including Alaska), Mexico, Europe and Papua, New Guinea, and is qualified on fifty-five flying machines.He has lived and travelled in Gibraltar, Spain, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, England, Morocco, Kenya, Australia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, Haiti, Cuba, The Bahamas, and Costa Rica.Frank Ogden was for seven years part of a medical research team in a Canadian psychiatric hospital using psychedelic chemical therapy.
